The Lion 90.7FM is 25! Happy birthday/anniversary!

Halloween 2020 is a special day; it was 25 years ago today, The Lion 90.7FM WKPS went on the air to play music and have talk radio – our own way! To have our 25th birthday/anniversary during this pandemic (and on a blue moon – the rare second full moon in a month) is poignant. No live event outside the station like we had a couple years to practice for the 25th, but WE ARE STILL STANDING and rocking on!!! I thank the students who sought the license 26 years ago and brought back student-run radio; thank you to the members; thank you to the community, who support our mission. Today is a busy day here, so if you are out and about, enjoy please remember to practice safety guidelines and turn up your radio to The LION 90.7fm (WKPS) – Penn State Radio, streamable via www.thelion.fm. The Grateful Dead Hour starts at 11AM. The Homegrown Music Show with Sister Sylvie is still SAT & SUN noon-3pm. Long live The Lion 90.7FM WKPS!
