Tune in for some HOT CHICKEN WISDOM with Rich Mahan on The Homegrown Music Show with Sister Sylvie

Written by on July 6, 2019

On Sunday’s July 7 Homegrown Music Show, Sister Sylvie will be having on Rich Mahan to discuss his new album Hot Chicken Wisdom. It is  the outcome of that process, an often-raucous, tongue-in-cheek celebration of life and gratitude steeped in country, barrelhouse rock, juke-joint infernos, sanctified redemption, and gleeful flights into jam-band divinity, all from an artist schooled by everyone from Bobby Bare and ZZ Top to the Grateful Dead, Commander Cody, Frank Zappa, and Little Feat. The Alternate Root has deftly called him a “roots-music Buddha whose songs always make sure the faithful leave with a grin” — and maybe a legend or two of their own to spin. You can read more about it as well as listen a little on http://www.richmahan.com/.

Sister Sylvie has enjoyed airing tracks as “Boots Off,” “Daydrinking,” “Tick On My Taint,” “Loose Lucy,” and “Coffee In The Morning.” More to come from the new CD. You may also be familiar with his tracks “Mama Found My Bong” (Blame Bobby Bare) and “Politics and Murder” from The Homegrown Music Show and The Lion 90.7FM rotation.
