The Lady Lions (7-1, 0-0) beat the Radford Highlanders (2-6, 0-0) 97-47 Wednesday night at the Bryce Jordan Center.

The Lady Lions started the same lineup as they did Sunday consisting of Ali Brigham, Shay Ciezki, Leilani Kapinus, Chanaya Pinto, and Makenna Marisa.

FIRST HALF

It was an amazing start for the Lady Lions as they got 17 unanswered points from the tip. Penn State didn’t allow a field goal in the first 6 minutes.

The Lady Lions had an outstanding lead after the first quarter going up 32-6. Tay Valladay led with 11 points off the bench.

Penn State continued their dominance on both ends of the floor in the 2nd quarter and led 55-22 at the half.

SECOND HALF

The Lady Lions shot 2-11 from the field to start the second half. The Highlanders were unable to take advantage of the slow start failing to control Marisa, Ciezki, and Moriah Murray from deep in the third quarter.

That eventually gave Penn State its biggest lead of the ball game with 2:48 to play in the third quarter with Radford trailing by 48. The Lady Lions were able to end the third quarter making 5 or their last 7 field goals guiding them to a 72-34 lead.

The Highlander’s didn’t get many contributions besides from Ashlyn and Pa’Shence Traylor-Walker who combined for 15 of Radford’s 47 points.

WHAT’S NEXT

Penn State will travel to Morgantown for a matchup with the West Virginia Mountaineers on Monday before they enter Big Ten play. As for Radford they will head to Niagara to extend their road trip.
