Lady Lions go 1-1 in the Bahamas

Penn State went 1-1 in the Baha Mar Pink Flamingo Championship. Let’s take you through each matchup:

 

OKLAHOMA STATE

The Lady Lions beat the Oklahoma State Cowgirls by a final score of 89-80. 

Carolyn Kieger entered Chanaya Pinto into the starting lineup with Tay Valladay coming off the bench and both players produced. Pinto had 11 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists while Valladay added 16 off the bench. 

Shay Ciezki led the Lady Lions in scoring with 27 while hitting 7 threes. Ali Brigham had another strong game this time with a double-double having 14 points and 10 rebounds. 

 

USC

The Lady Lions lost to the (8) USC Trojans by a score of 71-70. 

This was a game in which the biggest lead for either team was 8. Penn State even had a 4 point lead with 2:47 to go. 

Shay Ciezki had 18 points while Kylie Lavelle and Makenna Marisa finished in double figures. Despite the loss, this shows that the Lady Lions can compete with the nation’s best.

Penn State (5-1, 0-0) will host the Providence Friars on Sunday back at the Bryce Jordan Center with tip-off scheduled for 1 PM
